Kim Rayner and Charley’s Chocolates - her inspiration

After extensive travel abroad in my twenties, I was always drawn back to Australia’s strong organic landscape; it’s so unique. Bold, raw and pure.

It’s inspiring, and I love exploring that connection in my painting.

Now working from Mission Beach in Far North Queensland, I am surrounded with that connection and with my richest inspiration; nature.

Living by the ocean, and in the forests of the North, it intimately connects me with the landscape. I live amongst it, the light and the changing elements.

I so resonate with this connection to the landscape.

I was asked by Charley’s Chocolate to merge the feeling and colours of the beautiful Wet Tropics with the rich light of the Great Barrier Reef; to show the heart and soul of Mission Beach and Far North Queensland.

We live where the rainforest meets the sea, where colour flows out to the islands and onward to the protected Great Barrier Reef. From the deep green of the rainforests and the golden sands of the beaches and islands, to the turquoise light of the waters of the Coral Sea.

This is also the home of Charley’s Chocolate; boutique chocolate grown and produced in this magical, tropical environment.
