When did you last have amazing HOT CHOCOLATE? With the unusually cold winter Queensland and the east coast this year it's the perfect time to indulge with Charley’s Decadent Hot Chocolate!
Forget about using cocoa powder or drinking chocolate. Real hot chocolate is where the ‘Food of the Gods” becomes “Heaven in a Mug” but it has to be made with real chocolate.
Charley’s Decedent Hot Chocolate.(Serves 2)
Ingredients:
- 350ml full cream milk or plant milk of your choice
- 50 ml pure cream or plant cream (Cashew or Oat cream are personal favourites!)
- 80gm bar of any of Charley’s 70% Single Origin Chocolate chopped or grated.
Method:
- Warm 150ml of the milk over a medium heat. Stir in the chocolate.
- Stir gently until the chocolate has melted into the milk. Gradually stir in the remaining milk and then the cream.
- Continue to heat until hot but do not allow to boil.
- Pour into mugs. (For a frothy finish whisk before serving).
- Flavour with – Demerara sugar, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, chilli, cardamom. (optional)
- Garnish with - Grated nutmeg, home made marsh mallow. We find however that it’s perfect just as it is!!!
